By now we would have delivered our annual Introduction to Bats training course for Derbyshire Wildlife Trust members. One of the resources we give out as part of that course is a fantastic key developed by Bob Cornes from Bedfordshire Bat Group and Bob has kindly said we can reproduce it here. Bob would love to hear any feedback about the key so if you have comments about its usefulness or any suggestions, send them to us (click here) and we will pass them on. As stated in the introduction, it’s aimed at being used with a heterodyne bat detector, so dust off that detector if you haven’t already and if you are getting bats flying over your gardens in the evening, we’d love you to submit those records to us: http://derbyshirebats.org.uk/records/ and share any videos you have on social media, our twitter handle is @derbyshirebats (mobile phone videos are great, take a look at this one our recorder Alan Roe took a few days ago:
